Gi Jiu Jitsu
Traditional jiu jitsu using the kimono. Builds precision, technique, self-defense awareness, and deep understanding of leverage. -
Nogi Jiu Jitsu
Traditional jiu jitsu using the kimono. Builds precision, technique, self-defense awareness, and deep understanding of leverage. -
Judo (Throws & Takedowns)
Traditional jiu jitsu using the kimono. Builds precision, technique, self-defense awareness, and deep understanding of leverage. -
Kids Jiu Jitsu (Ages 3+)
Confidence, discipline, focus, and fun. Our structured curriculum helps kids grow on and off the mats. -
Adult & Kid Striking Classes
Develop timing, power, confidence, and real striking fundamentals through our Thai Boxing, Muay Thai, and MMA striking classes. Students learn proper stance, footwork, punches, kicks, knees, elbows, and defensive skills in a safe, structured, and beginner-friendly environment. -
Women Only Class
Safe, supportive environment for women starting their martial arts journey.
Insight Brazilian Jiu Jitsu™ Headquarters is located in Bastrop, TX 78602 – just minutes away from Austin, Cedar Creek, Elgin, Smithville and Giddings. We offer a family-friendly environment for men, women and children to develop their submission grappling skills. If your goal is to compete in BJJ tournaments, fight MMA, learn self-defense or just be a healthier you; we can help you achieve your goals.
Owner and head Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor Alex Henley is an IBJJF and NAGA Champion with years of instructional experience with adults and children of all body types. Alex is also a certified (civilian) Judo Black Belt and Level 1 Army Combatives Trainer.
Professor Alex is ranked in the top 2.6% in the world in his age division, of all weight classes, gi and nogi. (Aug 2025)
He and our other instructors can help you hone the best strategy for your size, weight, strengths and weaknesses.
